summertime stuff

on

I just cannot believe that it is halfway through July already. Where has the summer gone? Because I'm a girl who likes To-Do Lists, I figured I'd make a list of a few things I want to do before the summer is over. If it's in writing, I'm more likely to get it done. And if it's public, maybe I'll be even more likely to make sure it happens, so here goes. My rest-of-the-summer list:

1. Go to the beach
2. Go hiking
3. Go camping
4. Take Beth to the pool at least a couple times
5. Pick blackberries
6. Make blackberry pie
7. Make blackberry jam
8. Re-paint and decorate Lucy's bedroom
9. Refinish the little table and chairs in Lucy's bedroom
10. Make curtains for the kitchen and Lucy's bedroom
11. Run a 5K
12. Read the new Harry Potter book
13. Go to the Shakespeare festival in Ashland
14. Make pesto out of my own fresh home-grown basil
15. Stay out late and watch the summer meteor showers.
16. Take Beth to the fair (either county or state; she will just be thrilled with the rides and animals).

I think that's enough for now. I'm sure I could come up with more if I thought about it. A few of those are sure to happen; I already have plans in the works for them. Others will probably happen. Others might not. I'll keep you posted. Have a good summer, everyone.

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. It's been too long since I've stopped in here!!

Looks like a good list, and I agree that it's good to get it in writing. My daughter made it a "goal" to swim more this summer, so I've tried to take that seriously and provide opportunities for her each week.

I am SO covetous of your Oregon blackberries. When we lived there, there were so many wild ones right behind our neighborhood. . . . Yum.

Swap "blueberries" for "blackberries" and we have a very similar list!

Linn County Fair has free admission this Thursday. That's when we're going. And the pony rides in the family area are usually free! Maybe we'll see you there!
